We're sharing some fun facts of how YOU are making the HIROC community that much stronger!

HIROC had a massive year where we connected with so many change makers, gained and shared knowledge, and collectively moved the needle towards creating the safest healthcare system.

We couldn’t have done it without you!

First and foremost, thank you for opening your doors (both in-person and virtually) to HIROC this past year.
 
The team was so grateful that you were able to take some time out of your busy day to connect with us, but more importantly, share your stories and successes.
 

Bringing people together, breaking down barriers

Team HIROC was energized by the 450+ delegates who were gathered together in Vancouver for the 2023 Children’s Healthcare Canada Conference.

This year’s theme, Flip the Script saw a variety of sessions all geared toward driving change to positively impact children’s health in Canada.

Among the many speakers at the cybersecurity forum were Kopiha Nathan, Privacy and Compliance Lead, HIROC; Ira Parghi, Partner, INQ Law; Imran Ahmad, Head of Technology, Co-Head of Information Governance, Privacy and Cybersecurity, Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP; Jonathan Bracamonte, Lead, Product Development, HIROC; and Jason Marilla, VP Operations, InCyber.

As your trusted safety partner, we at HIROC are always at the ready to support the HIROC community and our healthcare system with our many valued resources, tools, educational opportunities and events.

More recently, the team at HIROC had yet another idea on how we can partner to impact safety.

The results are in for HIROC’s 2023 Safety Grants Program!

The Safety Grants Program is an annual initiative supported by The HIROC Foundation aiming to promote the need for greater agility and knowledge sharing in healthcare by funding HIROC Subscribers’ innovative research and projects that drive healthcare safety.

At this year’s Ottawa Patient Safety Conference, put on by The Ottawa Hospital (TOH), we had the opportunity to connect with the TOH team who support safety and innovation at the organization.

In addition to hearing about current projects on the go, we also learned how the culture of innovation is embedded across the organization and offers up an opportunity for anyone to drive change.

Recently, we were fortunate to hear about an initiative to combat racism and system oppression. 

It was being led by Claire Ramlogan-Salanga and Natasha Singleton-Bassaragh, and their goal was to support the IBPOC (Indigenous, Black, People of Colour) Midwifery community.

We had a chance to chat with them at the annual Canadian Association of Midwives Conference.

HIROC was delighted to support and attend the recent National Healthcare Finance Conference brought to the community by Spark Conferences. The event brought together finance professionals from across our healthcare sector to explore the trends and challenges many organizations face today.
