Job Title: Legal Summer Student

Reports to: General Counsel & VP, Risk Management  

Direct Reports: None

Status: 4-month contract 

Office Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm 

Travel Requirements: None

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform literature reviews, database searches, risk mapping, legal research and prepare memoranda and articles
  • Assist with preparation and attend examinations for discoveries, mediations, pre-trials, and trials; and
  • Provide general assistance to Healthcare Safety and Risk Management & Law Departments
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Training & Experience

  • Current enrollment in a Canadian law school with a demonstrated interest in health law

Working Conditions

  • HIROC operates a hybrid workplace – candidates must be able to attend office in-person and work remotely as required
