Summary

Reporting to Lead, People & Organization, the Human Resources Co-op Student will assist in supporting the People & Organization Department with a variety of HR related activities. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment, including creating job postings, posting jobs on various job boards, reviewing resumes, creating interview guides, completing background checks and reference checks
  • Review and update HIROC’s policy manual, ensuring policies are up to date
  • Support the management and organization of policies within the policy management system
  • Assist with updating human resource related documents on the company’s intranet as required
  • Support the onboarding and offboarding of employees
  • Support the review and testing of new modules within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Dayforce
  • Other duties as assigned 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills – written and verbal 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective working both independently and as part of team 
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) 

Education, Training & Experience

  • Post secondary education preferably in Human Resources acquired or enrolled in a Human Resources Management Certification or equivalent program 
  • Previous administrative experience would be considered an asset

Working Conditions

  • Working at a computer for much of the day
  • Hybrid working model

Salary

  • $20.30 hourly rate
