  • On our NEW Healthcare Change Makers episode, Dr. David Zorko from McMaster Children’s Hospital, Hamilton Health Sciences, shares his research on post-PICU care, including the impact of family presence in reducing ICU consequences. He explains, “If you saw me in the ICU, what you’ll hear me say to families when their child is critically ill is despite how scary this all is…that doesn’t change the fact that you are still their parents. All the mom and dad things apply. And if you want to do something that your child would like, don’t let these things be barriers, let us make it happen.” ALSO, at the 29-minute mark you’ll hear from Dr. David Zorko’s mentors, Dr. Geneviève Du Pont-Thibodeau and Dr. Karen Choong about the importance of post-PICU care. • HOW JOURNÉES MONTFORT SUPPORTS LEARNING AND COLLABORATION We were excited to hear about Hôpital Montfort’s annual Journées Montfort event that brings the Francophone healthcare community together to learn and collaborate. Hosted by Montfort’s knowledge institute, the Institut du Savoir Montfort, the event focuses on interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, innovation, research, and education. “To continue delivering high-quality service and patient satisfaction, it is important that healthcare workers are able to access learning and knowledge-sharing opportunities, such as the Journées Montfort. With its interdisciplinary approach and focus on research and collaboration, it provides an invaluable experience for healthcare professionals, both Francophones and Francophiles,” said Marie-Josée Martel, Chair, Hôpital Montfort Board of Directors, and HIROC board member. We recently heard from a couple of this year’s attendees who spoke about some of their top learnings from Journées Montfort and the importance of an event like this in our newest article.
