SIMULATION TRAINING WITH THE EXPERTS Krista Jangaard and the team at IWK Health recently ran a successful, large-scale Code Orange mass casualty simulation, and we spoke to the directors of the exercise to hear how they did it. Thank you to Dr. Vered Gazit and Phil Porter for taking time to share your top takeaways from this simulation, the importance of emergency preparedness, and advice for running a similar simulation exercise. “Running the disaster exercise in situ, in the real space with the real equipment and staff, truly allows you to test your plans, identify gaps, and combine education with quality improvement work,” Dr. Gazit emphasized. COLLISION CHATS FOR THE WIN This month we brought back HIROC's Collision Chats. Staff are randomly paired up for 15 minutes online or in person to connect with another colleague they may not work with on a daily basis.
