Marc is the Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for the University Health Network (UHN), an academic health sciences centre and Canada’s largest research hospital comprising Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, and the Michener Institute of Education. In his role, Marc has accountability for the legal, compliance, privacy, enterprise risk, security, life and fire safety, switchboard, and governance functions of UHN.
Marc has dedicated his career to the legal, risk and business issues affecting healthcare organizations. Prior to joining UHN in 2019, Marc served as the General Counsel to two other academic teaching hospitals – Sinai Health System and, prior to that, Baycrest Health Sciences. Marc began his legal career with the firm McCarthy Tétrault LLP in Toronto where his practice focused on professional negligence claims and complex commercial litigation.
Marc has a Bachelor of Science from Queen’s University, a Master of Science from McGill University (Human Genetics), and a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. Marc has been active on many boards and committees in the charitable and health sectors.

JO-ANNE MARR

Jo-anne Marr was the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Oak Valley Health (Markham Stouffville Hospital & Uxbridge Hospital) from 2015-2024.
Throughout her career, Jo-anne’s focus has been on health system leadership and driving strategic and transformational initiatives that have a positive impact on the overall patient experience.
Prior to joining Oak Valley Health, formerly Markham Stouffville Hospital in 2015, Jo-anne was the CEO of the Central Community Care Access Centre. Previous to that, she held leadership positions at Mackenzie Health including interim CEO, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Jo-anne has extensive health care experience that spans academic and community hospitals, public and private sectors, and both administrative and clinical leadership positions, as well as healthcare consulting. She continues to support healthcare through voluntary leadership roles; she is a member of the Board of the Healthcare Reciprocal of Canada (HIROC) and is Chair of the Board of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) York/South Simcoe Region.
Jo-anne was awarded the Platinum Jubilee Community Award in 2023 and the King Charles III Coronation Medal in March 2025 in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to the Markham-Stouffville community and York Region.
Jo-anne holds a Master of Science in Nursing, a Master of Business Administration and is a Certified Health Executive.

'REMI EJIWUNMI

'Remi Ejiwunmi is the Vice President of the Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children at Trillium Health Partners (THP). 'Remi’s leadership and expertise will help shape the development of the future Shah Family Hospital, a first-of-its-kind facility designed to transform care for women, children and families.
'Remi has been a visionary leader in the field of midwifery through her three decades of service. She joined THP in 1996, becoming Head Midwife in 2001 and the inaugural Division Head of Midwifery in 2013. She has also played an instrumental role in advancing quality at THP through work on the Perinatal Quality, Safety and Risk Council.
Her influence extends beyond THP as she has held leadership roles at the Association of Ontario Midwives, the Health Insurance Reciprocal for Canada (HIROC), and the Provincial Council for Maternal Child Health (PCMCH). She has a deep commitment to equity, inclusion and anti-racism through training and work within the health system to help shape policies to improve reproductive health and reduce health care inequities within the Black community.
'Remi holds a Master of Science in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety from the University of Toronto and is an Adjunct Professor at Toronto Metropolitan University and an Adjunct Scientist at McMaster University Midwifery Research Centre.

Ken Klassen

Ken Klassen has over 27 years of experience within Manitoba’s health system, mainly as a valued member of Shared Health and Southern Health-Santé Sud; including more than 20 years in senior leadership roles. He currently serves as Vice President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer at Shared Health, having previously held a similar role at Southern Health-Santé Sud.
Ken has provided leadership and support to a wide variety of initiatives in the areas of finance, capital construction, digital, supply chain, administration, planning and decision support while overseeing a diverse grouping of services ranging from nutrition and maintenance to logistics and emergency preparedness.
Ken’s career path has reached many areas across Manitoba including post-secondary, public education, and First Nations sectors, his leadership comes with a deep understanding of community needs and organizational dynamics. A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Manitoba, Ken is known for his collaborative leadership style and his ability to build strong, trust-based relationships. His insight, reputation, and system-wide perspective are assets to Shared Health and the broader provincial health system.
A lifelong learner, Ken actively engages in professional development and training opportunities, and he continues to share his expertise by participating on several governance boards. He is passionate about good governance and continuous improvement.

ELIZABETH BEADER

Elizabeth Beader is the principal consultant for AURA Inc, focused on governance excellence, risk and safety, quality, and accountability.
Elizabeth has over 30 years of experience as a business leader in healthcare with a demonstrated track record of client focused care, employee engagement and goal achievement. She has served as a CEO at Compass CHC and “Turnaround CEO” at Kitchener Downtown CHC.
Her experience within the industry has included successful Capital Plan Development of a $21million dollar LEED project, Enterprise Risk Management shared across Community Health Centres within Ontario, Co Design of Workflow, Employee Transition, and Strategic Planning.
Elizabeth has served on several Boards including the Alliance for Healthier Communities as a treasurer, Welcome Inn Community Centre as Chair, and New Horizons as Chair. She is an accreditation peer reviewer for the Canadian Centre for Accreditation, and has participated in 8 accreditation reviews.
Elizabeth was elected to the HIROC Board in 2015. She is currently a trustee on a Subscriber board, Thrive Group in Hamilton, Ontario.
Elizabeth holds an undergraduate degree from McMaster University, an MBA from Athabasca University, and has various certificates in health management including from Rotman School of Business, Advanced Health Leadership and Bay Area Leadership. Elizabeth holds a Chartered Directors Designation (C.Dir, 2021) from the Directors College of the Degroote School of Business.

Jen Feron

Jen Feron joined IWK Health in 2006 as legal counsel and was appointed General Counsel in 2012. Prior to joining IWK Health, Jen was in private practice and served as in-house legal counsel for an energy company.
Jen attended Dalhousie University, completing a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Laws, and a Master of Health Services Administration. Additionally, she has expanded her skills through several certificate and designation programs, including the Canadian Corporate Counsel Certified In-House Counsel Designation (CIC.C) from the Rotman School of Management and Canadian Corporate Counsel Association, the Canadian Health Executive (CHE) certification from the Canadian College of Health Leaders and the Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM) from the American Society for Health Care Risk Management.
