Key Responsibilities

Accounting for Special Entities

  • Responsible for complete and accurate recording of transactions in entity ledgers
  • Assist with year-end audit work
  • Full cycle Accounts Payable processing
  • Setting up new vendors including confirming banking information
  • Follow up on stale dated cheques – request stop payments and re-issue if needed.
  • Communicate with vendors and departments to troubleshoot, manage and resolve AP matters
  • Prepare entity investment entries and reconciliations, as well as related communication with investment manager(s) regarding cash flow management
  • Preparation and review of financial reports, Excel analysis and supporting documents
  • Primary contact person for communication with assigned entities 
  • Preparation of necessary account reconciliations
  • Processing interface files
  • Requesting and collecting funds due

Cash Management & Bank Reconciliations 

  • Monthly reconciliation of bank statements for multiple entities
  • Processing cash receipts
  • Entry of bank transactions in banking application

Other Finance Duties

  • Other duties as assigned
  • Provide back-up where necessary in the accounting department

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong computer skills in a Windows environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

Education, Training and Experience

  • College Diploma with a focus in accounting and/finance 
  • Accounting systems (Dynamics GP preferred) 
  • 5 years of relevant work experience
