Key Responsibilities

Internal Communications

  • Intranet maintenance and contributions - interview subjects, take photos, write articles and post materials to the site
  • Coordination of print and digital brand elements (letterhead, stationary) and promotional materials to ensure availability for corporate initiatives 
  • Respond to staff requests for communications/marketing departmental support (e.g., advice and guidance on writing, targeted campaigns, presentations, print materials and conference giveaways)
  • Oversee organization of the Communications and Marketing storage room, restocking and replenishing as necessary
  • Work with Communications and Marketing team on internal communications initiatives and events
  • Online community building to encourage staff connection
  • Other duties as assigned

Digital Media

  • Contribute to and support all HIROC social channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube)
  • Develop, plan and execute posts for all HIROC social channels
  • In collaboration with team and strategy, pitch concepts for targeted campaigns on all social channels
  • Develop storyboards, plan and execute interactive video content
  • Provide regular analytics updates
  • Action necessary content updates on the website using the CMS tool (Drupal)
  • Work with internal clients on proposed changes to the external website, create plans and work with web developer on implementing changes that reflect client needs and adhere to brand guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Events Coordination, Marketing Projects and Team Admin

  • Collaborate with Communications and Marketing team to plan and execute HIROC exposure at partner and industry events (in-person and virtual)
  • Assist with conference pack-up, set-up and tear-down
  • Assist with marketing projects as assigned
  • Assist with development of marketing materials to promote programs and services; liaise with suppliers (designers, printers) and HIROC staff to ensure highest standards and adherence to HIROC brand guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Writing and Creative Concepts

  • Contribute creative concepts to project-specific communication plans
  • Contribute through writing – articles for the intranet (My HIROC), HIROC News, the HIROC Connection
  • Edit articles, resources, and presentations for colleagues internally
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Desire to learn and willingness to take on new responsibilities
  • Well-organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to exercise discretion and tact in sensitive and confidential situations
  • Strong ability to multitask
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle preferred (some travel required)

Education, Training & Experience

  • University Degree or College Diploma (asset in a specified field – Communications, Marketing)
  • Knowledge of website CMS (Drupal), graphic design, MailChimp, photography, social media tools, Google Analytics, video editing/creation, customer service
  • Three years of relevant work experience 
  • Consideration will be given to candidates who have an equivalent mix of education, experience and expertise
