HIROC believes that healthcare students exposed to risk management and patient safety knowledge prior to their entry into professional practice, will find the transition into a patient safety focused culture easier.

With this in mind, HIROC’s Risk Management Department has recently partnered with several Canadian universities and colleges to provide in-person and telehealth presentations aimed at introducing students to many of the common risk management and patient safety themes and practices currently in place.

This proactive approach continues to grow with additional educational organizations added regularly, thus supporting the advancement of HIROC’s partnership goals while at the same time supporting professional and public awareness and understanding of our patient safety mandate.
