Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC)

The Healthcare Insurance Reciprocal of Canada (HIROC), The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) and its patient safety program team MORE^OB, recently announced the formation of a new organization, Salus Global Corporation. Building upon the success of the MORE^OB obstetrical patient safety program, the new company combines the patient and healthcare safety expertise of each organization for the benefit of the North American and International marketplace.

Salus Global Corporation's business focus is the development, marketing and operational support of programs and tools to improve performance and safety in the healthcare sector. The organization will operate under a new business structure with its own Board of Governors.

The formation of Salus Global Corporation represents the latest opportunity for both organizations to work together towards a safer healthcare system. HIROC has played an important role in the establishment and ongoing support of the MORE^OB program since 2001.  The continued operation and growth of MORE^OB in Canada, the United States and internationally will now be under the umbrella of Salus Global Corporation. The clinical content for MORE^OB will continue to be developed and provided by SOGC including all data related to the program. Salus Global Corporation plans to launch a new hospital corporate patient safety program called 9+ONE in the fall of 2007 in Canada.
