Save the date for AGM, risk management conference

The Healthcare Insurance Reciprocal of Canada (HIROC) is celebrating its silver anniversary.

The reciprocal invites subscribers to save the date for its milestone 25th annual general meeting (AGM) and 10th annual risk management conference April 30 in Toronto.

HIROC CEO Peter Flattery tells Axiom News he’s looking forward to this year’s anniversary affair.

“I’m excited we’ll be celebrating this milestone event together with the people who got us here -- subscribers, past and present board members, professional advisors,  and, of course, my staff,” Flattery says.

“My hope is that they feel they all contributed to the success of HIROC and will continue to be a big part of its future.”

From supporting 52 subscribers in 1987 to working in partnership with more than 500 healthcare organizations today, HIROC has provided insurance and risk management advisory services, tools and resources for two-and-a-half decades.

The reciprocal engages with a variety of healthcare stakeholders across the country, including hospitals, regional health authorities, long-term care facilities, midwives, community health centres and home-care organizations.

HIROC also collaborates with many other Canadian healthcare partners in an effort to enhance patient safety, mitigate risk and reduce claims.

Last year’s AGM and risk management conference in Ontario’s capital brought together about 250 stakeholders.

This year’s event runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
