Healthcare providers can ‘engage, inspire, lead’

Wednesday, February 22, 2012 Natalie Hamilton

The B.C. Patient Safety & Quality Council (BCPSQC) invites healthcare providers to “engage, inspire and lead” by participating in an upcoming event.

The organization presents its first-ever quality forum March 7-9 in Vancouver.

BCPSQC says the event features two days of “highly-interactive and inspirational content” and the chance to “celebrate successes, address challenges and identify strategies for advancing quality across the continuum of care.

“By bringing together policy and decision makers, quality improvement leaders, patients, researchers and health practitioners, we are creating an opportunity to share knowledge and discuss ideas.”

The program includes internationally-acclaimed speakers, three full-day pre-forum sessions, more than 50 “rapid-fire” presentations and workshops and 100-plus storyboards.

BCPSQC has chosen speakers who cover the spectrum from acute to palliative care and support patients of diverse backgrounds and needs.

The plenary speakers are NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement chief of service transformation Helen Bevan, CareOregon CEO Dave Ford, Duke University Virginia Stone professor of nursing Ruth Anderson and Saskatoon Health Region’s head of urology, Kishore Visvanathan.

Through the forum, BCPSQC aims to showcase leading practices, inspire quality improvement, foster partnerships and identify opportunities for healthcare leaders to be change catalysts.
